Easter is right around the corner, so we’re giving you some Easter Bunny Fun to wake up the whole family!

The Bunny-Butt Breakfast

The Bunny Breakfast

Everyone loves pancakes right?

To make the Bunny-Butt Breakfast (with a twist) we need you to get your griddle going and start flipping pancakes!

On your next visit to Redland’s Farmer’s Market, be sure to pick up the following on your shopping list:

Bananas – Peel and cut 2 slices for the feet.

Kiwi – Peel and slice up into strips for grass.

Strawberries – Here’s the twist, (instead of coloring and cutting pancake pieces into heart shapes) we recommend cutting slices of strawberries, they’re practically already in heart shapes and a healthier option! Win-win!

Blueberries – Please 3 on each foot for the toes.

Bacon – This is a substitute for the meat lovers, use the bacon strips as the ears and fold one over! -Cute and yummy!

And for the final powder pom-pom butt you can either use whip cream, a scoop or ice cream, marshmallow sprinkled with powdered sugar, or if you have a lot of little kiddos I’d probably stick to the less sugar, whip cream option and throw in some rainbow sprinkles for added fun!

But wait! Don’t forget your main ingredient the Pancakes! You could just purchase a pre-maid, just-add-water mix at your next grocery run or if you’re fancy and making them from scratch you’ll need:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar

  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, egg and melted butter; mix until smooth.
  2. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides and serve hot.

Now you’re all set so serve up some tea or orange juice, pick out a pretty straw and napkin, add some fresh flowers to the table and ring the alarm!

We hope you enjoy every bunny bite but most important, from our family to yours, we wish everyone a Happy Easter Sunday and hope you all enjoy that special day with family and friends! Saludos!
